The Optimist Oratorical Contest is an international event held yearly. The local competition will be February 3rd, 2025 at South Vermillion Middle School. The first place speaker receives $100, second receives $50, and third place receives $25. The winners of this local competition are able to advance on to further levels of competition, culminating in an international championship where the winner receives a $15,000 scholarship. The topic for 2025 is "How Optimism Has Guided Me Through Trying Times".  Specific speech rules and guidelines can be found on the entry form.
