Max Chambers Golf Outing

The Max Chambers Golf Outing is held every June at Clinton’s Matthews Park Golf Course. It is held in memory of Max Chambers. He was a teacher at South Vermillion, a very active Optimist member, and an avid golfer. The outing is a fun afternoon of golf, refreshments and prizes that helps raise money to support local Optimist programs.

The 2024 outing was a great success with 48 golfers participating.  Members of the winning team were Lance Wade, Hadley Warner, Lori Turchi and Keith Warner. Skill prizes were won by Bob Spence (longest putt), Geno Fenoglio (closest to pin), Kyle Stevenson (longest drive men) and Bailey Pearman (longest drive woman). Our four major sponsors were Union Hospital Clinton, Casey's General Store, Scott Oil, Inc. and Vermillion County Community Foundation. We also had a total of 28 individual and business sponsors.
